Hierarchy of Evidence in Research

Intermediate

It’s essential to understand how different study designs contribute to the body of knowledge in their respective fields. The hierarchy of evidence provides a framework for evaluating the quality and reliability of research findings.

You will learn about the hierarchy of evidence. This is a concept used to rank the quality of evidence from various research study designs. Picture it as a pyramid, with the highest quality of evidence positioned at the top and lesser quality evidence toward the base.

This includes: Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses, Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), Cohort Studies, Case-Control Studies, Cross-Sectional Studies, Case Series and Case Reports.
